Cartier Tank Américaine Large 2505
Louis Cartier, driven by design, revolutionized watchmaking with his influential styles. Cartier, founded in 1847, began producing watches in the early 20th century. During World War I, Cartier designed the Tank watch for the French army, inspired by Renault tanks. Its square shape, large Roman numerals, and elegant leather strap broke traditional design norms and have remained unchanged since its debut in 1917. After the war, the Tank symbolized courage, and Cartier cleverly launched it for the public in 1919. In 1989, they introduced a curved version for the US. The model 2505 boasts a curved 18k rose-gold case, sapphire crystal, and signature Cartier features like a white dial with black Roman numerals and blued-steel hands.
This is a full set from 2012. As shown in the photos, it has just undergone an official Cartier service, which is certainly a great bonus!
