Today, Enicar is known for its creatively designed vintage “golden era” watches, despite being relatively unknown. Founded in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland, in 1913, Enicar is most cherished for its sports models from the 60s and early 70s. An early adopter of the EPSA-designed Super Compressor case, Enicar created watches for flying, diving, and racing.
The Sherpa Guide, Enicar’s pilot’s watch GMT, was robust and featured tools for tracking multiple locations within a waterproof case. It had a two-part outer bezel with a world-timer and a rotating red marker, along with an inner rotating “Super Compressor” bezel with a 24-hour scale. The large 43mm case housed the classic Enicar two-crown setting system.
